1968 - THE FIRST FRENCH GRAND SLAM

WALES v FRANCE

Cardiff Arms Park, March 23 1968

On a mud infested Cardiff Arms Park the French team fought back from a 9-3 deficit to win their fist ever Grand Slam. The Camberabero brothers Guy (conversion, penalty drop goal) and Lilian (try) helped to write the first chapter of the the French Five Nations Grand Slam story with 11 points out of the 14 scored. Christian Carrere completed the scoring with a try.

This signed menu card is from the post-match dinner. It is fully signed by both teams, France on the front and Wales to the back cover. This item is not for sale (WRM-0584)

French players tie from 1987 RWC - It is believed that this tie was exchanged with All Black Mark Brooke-Cowden for a New Zealand tie after the 1987 Rugby World Cup Final in which the All Blacks beat France.

FRANCE - tour of South Africa 1967. 31 autographs of members of the tour party on the reverse of a letter requesting the autographs. The letter is type written and signed by Douglas Crampton, a famous English autograph collector. Ref: F8-92-aultfr67xb - £135.00

BIARRITZ v SURREY 1913 – The match programme for this pre first world war encounter between the French club side Biarritz and the English county Surrey. Played at the Biarritz-Stade on 24^th March 1913. This six page 11cm x 18cm programme has the scores added to the middles pages, Biarritz won the game 16 pts to Nil, it also has a hole punched throughout near the top but on the whole the condition is excellent. A miniature autographed ball from the "Graham Henry collection" - Graham sold his collection of memorabilia to a NZ collector who has since sold part of it to Rugby Relics. This ball was signed by All Blacks and French players during the 1961 tour of New Zealand, probably at the 3rd test in Christchurch. 10 signatures remain legible including Don & Ian Clarke, Young, Yates & Wolfe - the rest are faded, we are unable to inflate the ball but it remains "rugby ball" shape apart from a couple of indentations Ref: BL5-auba-gh-x2 - £65.00
