The first round of the auction will open at 01.00 GMT (1.00am) on Friday October 28 2022 and close at 23.00 GMT (11.59pm) on Sunday 6 November 2022. (Additional rounds, if necessary, will close on the subsequent Sundays, 13, 20 & 27th November.

AUCTION REGISTRATION:

You will automatically be registered for the auction when you submit your first "bid offer". If you wish to make a 'bid offer' over the telephone (01639 729000 - from overseas +44 1639 729000) you will need a credit or debit card with which to make your 'bid offer' payment.

AUCTION LOT BIDDING PROCESS

Step 1 - To take part in the auction and to bid on a particular lot, pay the stated nominal amount,  the "bid offer" as an expression of interest and an opportunity to purchase the lot at the starting price.

Step 2 - If you (the bidder) are the only person who has paid to have an expression of interest (made a "bid offer") in a particular lot, then you will be offered the opportunity to purchase the lot at the starting price.

Step 3 - If there is more than one expression of interest ("bid offer") for a particular lot then the lot price will be raised proportionally by the number of bid offers and another round of the auction will take place. Round 2 will end on 13 November 2022 etc.

Consequently if no "bid offer" has been received then we will either drop the price on the lot for the next round of the auction, withdraw the lot or hold it at the same price.

Step 3 will be repeated until only 1 bid offer is received. If no bid offers are received at the new level, the bidders at the previous level will be given the opportunity to either bid against each other over the phone, by email or to submit a bid offer privately between the lower and upper prices. In this instance, we reserve the right to make an arbitrary judgement call in the interests of simplicity and/or fairness.

TERMINOLOGY / DEFINITIONS / MORE INFO:

START PRICE: Each auction lot has a start price. This is the minimum price we will accept for a lot in that particular round of the auction.

BID OFFER: We use the term 'bid offer' to mean the following in relation to this auction process. That you (the bidder) are willing to pay the 'bid offer' amount shown as the 'starting price' for the lot. The amount paid as a 'bid offer' is an administration fee and does not carry over towards the price of the lot. If you make a successful 'bid offer' you are not contractually obliged to purchase a lot.

SINGLE SUCCESSFUL BID OFFER: If you are the only person to submit a 'bid offer' for a particular lot then you will be offered the opportunity to purchase the lot at the 'starting price'

MULTIPLE SUCCESSFUL BID OFFERS: If more than one person submits a 'bid offer' for a particular lot then the 'starting price' will be raised and a new round of bidding will ensue.

START PRICE NOT MET. If the start price is not met then we will potentially enter into a 'dutch auction' and lower the price of the lot by an unspecified amount at regular intervals following the auction end. We reserve the right not to lower the start price and to withdraw the lot at any time during this process.

NOTIFICATIONS - We will notify clients of 'successful bid offers' as soon as possible after the end of the first auction round on November 6th by email prior to publishing the auction results on the auction index page. Please do not query any results etc prior to this.

AUTHENTICITY - Every item in the auction is completely owned by Rugby Relics Ltd and there is no third party involvement. We guarantee that the information we provide for each lot is to the best of our knowledge authentic and each item in the sale we believe to be original and authentic. We have no reason to doubt the sources of any item we have acquired previously from a third party that we are offering for sale as part of this auction.

PROBLEMS / ENQUIRIES - We will try our best to answer each enquiry and to help solve any problems that may occur as a result of administration or technical problems etc. Please be patient if you have contacted us and are waiting for an answer.

"Bid offers" for lots in the auction can be made by the following methods

PAYPAL 'BID OFFER' BUTTONS - The "bid offer" buttons are automated and are linked to the 'Paypal' payment system. We have been using the paypal system on the www.rugbyrelics.com website for over 20 years. It is a tried and tested method. This is our preferred method of receiving bids. If however, you are having problems with this system or prefer another method of bidding, we will also accept bids or "bid offers" by the following methods.

EMAIL - If you have previously been a Rugby Relics customer, then you can submit your bid offer/s by email. Please email sales@rugbyrelics.com with your "bid offer/s" and we will provide you with the relevant process information to continue bidding by this method.

TELEPHONE or POST - We accept bid offers over the telephone using credit or debit card as a method of payment. We will also accept maximum bids over the phone and manage "bid offers" on behalf of clients on request.

SALE BY TENDER

When 2 or more bids are received for a particular item we may offer the lot to 'sale by tender'. In this case, those that have made 'bid offers' on the lot will be offered the opportunity to tender for the lot in writing. The highest price submitted by tender wins the lot.
